Weekend 6/28/2008

What a fun and crazy weekend, Robbie and I tried to fly Becky up for the cousin luncheon on Saturday, but the plane was not cooperating. So Becky was sweet and drove up with her kids anyway!! Also, my daughter Lex had gotten back from her vacay the night before so we ended up staying up until 3 a.m. catching up.

I "requested" that Robbie and Lex clean while I went to the luncheon. What a great visit we had at Thanksgiving Point. My cousins are the best.

I then returned home and celebrated a late birthday for Lex with Uncle Sherman and Aunt Beck y and her children attending. Lex ended up dropping her slice of the cake. HAlarious!! Here are some photos.....

Getting warmer....

This week flew by! I just realized I missed "Strawberry Day's", I have many memories of the rickety carnival rides and the delicious strawberries!! I finally finished the coffee table, there are still remnants of the last stain I used which was a rich cherry color. Note to self: NEVER use cherry stain again unless you want it to stay that color forever. Oh well, I keep telling myself the table has "character." Tee hee. I look like such a geek in the glasses....

Here is the latest photo of "Benecio del Torro", one of his many nicknames. Real name Brennon...He is still growing, I estimate he should be 10 feet tall pretty soon.

I cannot wait until the 4th of July, I am excited to see everyone. Julie B has agreed to help me and sherm and Grandma Bullough set up their blog's, mine still needs work.

Last but not least, I have included some pix of my biological mother .....but my REAL MOM is Linda...love you mom!!!

Father's Day 2008

Today, we went to the Zoo as well, we got there early because it has finally warmed up here in Utah! My LEAST favorite is the Millipede, I was assured many times that they are not poisnonous but they still look incredibally creepy. Here is the Bison which strangely enough we had to go to the Zoo to see, while in North Dakota we did not see any.

Me trying on a chinese hat, not sure what it is called..

The cute Giraffes

Apparently there is a wolverine loose in the zoo. This poor man's shirt was ripped, maybe he was trying to catch it. JOKING.

Millipede.........ewwwwww.

This week has been busy, meeting with my advisors at the school, working on the front yard and also attempting to refinish a coffee table. The table was originally a light tan color, I then stained it a couple of years ago and now am sick of how dark it is. It really doesn't match any of my furniture so back to the drawing board. As soon as I am done sanding, I think I will stain it a honey tone, somewhere in between cherry and tan. Here is a photo of the table.

Himalyan Festival

Reflection on the Koi pond
Llama

Very cute and nice Parrot.

In front of the Temple

Yesterday we went to the Himalyan Festival that was held in Spanish Fork. There were several traditional dances and plays performed outside on the main stage while food was served in the Temple. The Temple was beautiful and all guests were asked to remove their shoes before entering. There was also a little shop located inside the temple which I thought was interesting.

There were also peacocks, little cows and a pond that had some Koi in it. It was a fun day!!

Hiking Today...

Today I took a hike, it was a beautiful day. I did not quite reach the top because there was snow in the path....for quite a bit, otherwise I would have trudged on. Here are some photos from the hike. This was up Cottonwood Canyon.
p.s. This is my first post and I am still playing around with the appearance and learning how to use the tools provided.
